Job summary

PCI Pharma Services in Madison, WI, seeks a Material Handler III to support day-to-day shipping, receiving, and inventory control for pharmaceutical fill/finish operations.   • Lead continuous improvement projects for alternative shipping methods.
  • Move materials between dock and truck and within plant locations.
  • Prepare temperature-sensitive shipments following procedures.

We are currently looking for a Material Handler III who assists in the day to day activities relating to shipping, receiving and inventory control functions supporting Pharmaceutical fill/finish Operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handles all shipping responsibilities to include preparing required shipment/delivery documentation, maintaining shipping requests and schedules, and inventory control of supplies to meet all potential shipping needs.
  • Ability to oversee and run Receiving and Inventory Control, as well as Shipping.
  • Ability to lead Continuous Improvement Projects assisting in the development of alternative shipping methods.
  • Loads and/or unloads material between dock and truck, moving materials between statuses and locations within the plants.
  • Prepares temperature sensitive shipments according to procedure minimizing time removed from controlled environment.
  • Prepares declarations and ships dangerous goods in strict compliance with current IATA and DOT regulations.
  • Processes delivered materials according to procedure placing an added immediacy on temperature sensitive receipts.
  • Evaluates supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers and provides feedback on rate suppliers and distributors.
  • Direct contact with transportation companies for shipping quotes and to arrange shipments.
  • Prepare work-in-process (WIP) and lot specific kits supporting Manufacturing.
  • Records and maintains accurate inventory logs for all manufacturing components.
  • Researches inventory discrepancies and reports findings.
  • Conducts materials handling operations in strict accordance with written SOPs assuring that operations are conducted in compliance with strict cGMP procedures.
  • Processes manufacturing and shipping supplies as outlined in procedures.
  • Performs material sampling as required.
  • Performs cycle counts, expiration date maintenance and maintains all material storage locations.
  • Ensures proper storage, segregation and area labeling of raw material storage areas, and processes expired and nonconforming materials to a restricted area and place on-hold.
  • Attends semi-annual DOT and IATA training as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Special Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break
  • Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects
  • Ability to lift loads, not to exceed 50 pounds, unassisted
Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years of experience preferred
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures regarding transportation of temperature sensitive materials required.
  • Ability to prioritize, to make good decisions and multi-task.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Self-motivator, reliable, follows instructions and can perform duties with minimal guidance
  • Willing to put the team first.
  • Must understand cGMP requirements and strict adherence to safety policies and practices
  • Strong commitment to excellence and quality with a positive working attitude.
  • Valid drivers’ license
  • APICS coursework or certification a plus
  • Previous DOT and IATA training preferred
  • ERP software experience is a plus
