Job summary

Blast Cleaning Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Weld Material Handler to support material handling within the weld bay, kit parts for production, and manage Epicor ERP transactions.

Responsibilities include moving jobs with a forklift, coordinating materials with weld leads, and ensuring accurate inventory flow. The role requires forklift experience, ability to operate an overhead crane, and familiarity with a QR code system.

Qualifications

  • Forklift experience required.
  • Overhead Crane experience preferred.
  • Experience using QR code based systems.
  • Some mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Support material handling in weld bay areas, kit parts for production, and manage transactions in Epicor ERP.
  • Move jobs using forklift and assist with material flow between weld and next operations.
  • Operate overhead crane to move large weldments and materials.
  • Ensure accurate BOM-based material flow and inventory visibility.
  • Collaborate with weld leads and production team to prioritize kitting.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Weld Leads, theWeld Material Handler is responsible for supporting material handling operations within the weld bay areas. This includes kitting parts for production, completing material flow, and utilizing Epicor ERP to manage transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties as management deems necessary.

Material Flow

  • Utilizing a forklift to move jobs into weld and next jobs operation.
  • Take direction from weld leads and/or leaders to complete task list as assigned.
  • Operate overhead crane to move large weldments and miscellaneous materials.
  • Use Epicor to process transactions to kit various jobs on the shop floor.
  • Transact material movement which update statuses to maintain real-time inventory visibility.
  • Follow assigned pick lists for weld operations.
  • Alert leadership when Epicor issues arise.

Inventory & Quality

  • Check through BOM (bill of materials) provided by steel processing/fabrication to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain organized staging areas and ensure materials are labeled and stored properly.
  • Kit parts for weld projects based on production schedules and assigned work orders.
  • Ensure all required components are available and staged appropriately for weld teams.
  • Collaborate with weld leads/leadership and other members of the production team to prioritize kitting based on workflow needs.
  • Issuing stock materials to jobs.

Other

  • Work closely with Shipping & Receiving and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Assist with departmental waste management.
  • Help drive and support BCT’s Culture and Core Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
