Job summary

Nature in Edwardsville, KS, is seeking dedicated warehouse associates for two full-time shifts. Responsibilities include transporting materials, loading/unloading trucks, staging ingredients, and ensuring accurate inventory in a refrigerated production setting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials and packaging using material handling equipment (Crown Standup).
• Load and unload trucks according to schedule in a safe and timely manner.
• Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and the production team.
• Understand FIFO and FEFO concepts.
• Stage raw ingredients per production schedule and interpret batch sheets.
• Convert batch recipes accurately (gallons to pounds and pounds to kilograms) with calculator help.
• Operate sit-down and standing forklifts safely.
• Perform data entry in the warehousing system and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in cycle counts and keep work area clean and organized.
• Wear required PPE and follow GMPs, safety and quality programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Transport raw materials and packaging using a variety of material handling equipment (Crown Standup)

Load and unload trucks according to schedule and in a safe and timely manner

Serve as a liaison between the warehouse and the production team

Must understand FIFO and FEFO concepts

Stage raw ingredients according for production according to production schedule

Interpret batch sheets to accurately stage raw ingredients for production

Ensure proper breakdown of batch recipes by appropriately converting gallons to pounds and pounds to kilograms with the assistance of a calculator

Ability to work independently with little or no supervision and as a member of a team

Ensure effective and professional communication with team members and site leadership

Ensuring that incoming and outgoing products meet strict food safety and quality requirements

Operate sit down fork truck and standing fork truck in a safe manner

Effective operation of computer, keyboard, and mouse

Accurate data entry both written and in computer warehousing program

Participate in inventory cycle counts both on and off-site

Responsible for ensuring work area is clean, organized, and free of obstructions

Wear appropriate PPE where required

Strictly adhere to all safety policies

Follow company GMPs and all other quality and food safety programs as they relate to the warehouse department

All other duties as assigned

Position Type:

We have two positions available:

Full-time 1st shift position. Hours of work are Monday- Friday 6:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Saturdays as needed,

Full-time 2nd shift position. Hours of work are Monday-Friday 3:00 pm- 1:00 pm and Saturdays as needed. Subject to business necessity both shifts

Education:

H.S. diploma or G.E.D is required

Experience:

6 months -12 months' experience in a warehouse environment. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred. Experience with stand-up fork trucks is a must. You will be required to pass a driving test.

Knowledge and Skills:

Outstanding written and verbal communications skills. Basic inventory and warehousing knowledge is preferred. Bilingual in Spanish is beneficial, but not a must.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

100% of work is performed in a production facility which is refrigerated to 35ºF with significant work in sub-zero freezer and may be wet and/or humid. Environment contains allergens. Constantly exposed to moving parts, loud production equipment, vibration, and pedestrian traffic. Ability to work on a computer. Ability to lift at least 45 lbs. on a regular basis to waist height and above head. Ability to see and analyze product at close range, from a distance, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to stand, walk, handle, kneel, bend, twist stoop, climb and descend stairs, communicate with team members.
