Job summary

New Weds Foods is seeking a packaging associate to move products between blending, packaging and warehouse areas. You will supply pallets and materials to maintain continuous packing line operation and assist with loading and stacking tasks.

You must have a high school diploma or GED, about one year in packaging in a food manufacturing setting, and be able to operate a stand-up forklift and related equipment. This position requires lifting up to 55 lbs and occasional heavy pushing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of packaging experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate standard warehouse equipment, including stand-up forklift.
• Approximately 2 years previous experience in a forklift position/operation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move product from Blending to Packaging and from Packaging to Warehouse.
• Supply empty pallets and materials to pack lines as needed to keep packing lines operating.
• Assist in stacking at the end of the line as needed by loading boxes/bags onto a pallet. Requires lifting up to 25 – 55 lbs. continuously.
• Assist in dumping of product at deck as needed. Requires pushing/pulling 100+ lbs.
• Assist as packer operator as needed.
• Completes paperwork as needed.
• Maintain integrity of raw materials.
• Assist in inventory and cycle counts
• Keep area and equipment clean; follow LOTO procedures when cleaning equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Work Environment:

The job is performed in the production area where the person will be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
