Job summary

OBE is seeking a Material Handler I to move material, including glass and/or metal, between positions in the plant and assist in expediting product through manufacturing. The role reports to the Production Supervisor and emphasizes accuracy, safety, and timely handling of materials.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities as part of the Production Department team, building a career with an industry leader.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; overtime when required.
• Prior work experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand moderate to high noise levels.
• Prior work history in a plant facility with climate conditions typical of the region.

Responsibilities

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Perform work as assigned by Supervisor.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.
• Adhere to quality standards provided to customers (internal/external).
