Henry Schein, Inc. in Indianapolis is seeking a warehouse associate to verify received items, match descriptions, quantities, packaging units, and expiration dates, and to place products into correct stocking locations.
You will break down products into selling units, rotate stock, learn RF technology, handle damaged items, and participate in Receiving and Picking, with opportunities to contribute on special projects.
Verifies that items have been received correctly by matching product description, quantity, packaging unit, and expiration date (where applicable) on the putaway document or RF device, with the product received. Breaks down products received into correct selling units and puts products into correct stocking location, as noted on the putaway document or RF device.
Notes discrepancies and marks products for review by department team lead or supervisor as appropriate.
Ensures items with expiration dates have stock rotated accordingly.
Must learn to utilize RF technology.
If products or inventory are damaged, brings to designated damaged area in Inventory Control or calls the spill team as appropriate.
Will also be trained in various distribution functions such as Receiving and Picking.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
Knowledge of basic warehousing operations preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or comparable work experience.
Physical demands refer to the level and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform critical tasks in support of critical job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
Lift, carry or move products up to:
Pushing/pulling: uses hand jack. 25lbs of force is needed.
Gripping and fine hand manipulation: Continuously
Twist/bending: Frequently
Squatting: Frequently
Kneeling: Frequently
Reaching overhead: Occasionally
Climbing ladders/stepstools: Occasionally
Walk/stand on concrete: Continuously
Use of Put away/Replenishment cart: Occasionally
Utilizes hand tools such as utility knife, pallet jack, RF device and tape gun
Continuous temperature-controlled building
May be exposed to dust occasionally
Work in a cold environment occasionally
