Position Details

A Material Handler I position is available in Tacoma, Washington at Milgard Windows and Doors. The role requires prior warehouse experience, including loading trucks and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Forklift certification is mandatory, with in-house certification available. Experience in a shipping environment, preferably in window manufacturing, is preferred.

The hourly wage ranges from $22.00 to $24.00, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

1. Perform departmental activities following standard procedures.
2. Unload vinyl bundles, receive into the system, and store in inventory.
3. Assist with vinyl insert machine operation and sample cutting.
4. Receive and verify materials against packing slips.
5. Ensure order completeness and proper documentation.
6. Secure loads to prevent damage.
7. Maintain inventory and fulfill orders as directed.
8. Handle shipment paperwork and address discrepancies.
9. Receive raw materials, verify, and label accurately.
10. Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
11. Use personal protective equipment properly.

Qualifications

1. Experience in material receiving/handling preferred.
2. High School diploma or GED.
3. Forklift certification required; in-house certification possible.
4. Basic math skills including fractions and operations.
5. Good hand-eye coordination and color discernment.
6. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
7. Prolonged standing, repetitive motions, bending, pushing, and pulling.
8. Hand strength and dexterity.
9. Overtime and weekend availability may be required.
