Job summary

Watco is hiring a Material Handler Operator to safely operate a variety of heavy equipment supporting transloading and site operations. You will work both independently and with teams outdoors, adapting to weather and site conditions.

The role requires flexibility for first/second shifts and overtime. Starting pay is $27.75 per hour, with progression after 90 and 180 days, and there are opportunities for training and development through Watco University.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of equipment operating experience preferred.
• Pass classroom and field evaluations for equipment competency.
• Valid driver’s license required; TWIC card optional or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely to support daily transloading and site operations.
• Work with teams in outdoor environments and adapt to varying conditions.
• Be willing to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Maintain and diagnose equipment; service and lubricate as directed.
• Assist in loading/unloading barges, trucks, and railcars; move material.
• Follow supervision, maintain schedules, and ensure safety procedures.
