Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is seeking a warehouse associate to safely receive and transfer donated goods, operate material handling equipment, and support leadership as needed. You will move items from the dock to designated departments in a fast-paced setting while upholding safety and efficiency.

Preferred candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience, with material handling experience preferred. Some evenings/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 1 year experience in a related field required.
• Material Handling experience preferred.
• The associate will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Sorts donated goods into the proper container for transfer to designated areas.
• Safely and efficiently uses material handling equipment to transport donated goods to the appropriate area.
• Loads trailers and containers when required.
• Follows established procedures for the safe disposal of waste, adhering to all recycling procedures.
• Maintains good housekeeping of assigned areas inside and outside of the facility.
• Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and performs other duties as assigned by team management to include filing in for other positions when needed.

2. Safely and efficiently uses material handling equipment to transport donated goods to the appropriate area.

4. Follows established procedures for the safe disposal of waste, adhering to all recycling procedures.
5. Maintains good housekeeping of assigned areas inside and outside of the facility.
6. Provides outstanding customer service to internal and external customers and performs other duties as assigned by team management to include filing in for other positions when needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance

• High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will consider a combination of education and work experience.
• 1 year experience in a related field required.
• No professional certifications are required for this position.
• The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties.
• The associate in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check.
• Material Handling experience preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions

• The associate is required to lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
• The associate works in an environment with frequent exposure to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
• The associate must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
