Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is hiring a Material Handler to join our manufacturing team. You will move parts and materials safely through the facility, ensuring a steady flow to work centers and alignment with demand signals to keep production on schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, follow procedures, and work independently.
• Reliable, team-oriented mindset with great time management.
• Strong organizational skills and a sense of accountability to every task.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Operate weight and count scales.
• Outsource material from factory to warehouse on a daily basis.
• Rectify inventory issues.
• Use proper materials for job (pallets, boxes) when packing material.
• Create manifests for shipping to outside vendors.
• Communicate with warehouse and factory shuttle drivers when material needs to move.
• Work with the clamp department doing material related functions to keep production flowing.
• Assist pre-pack department when time permits.
• Assist other material handlers on the factory floor by taking out cardboard and emptying cages.
• Assist with other areas of material handling as needed.
