Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is seeking an Architectural Millwork Material Handler to perform receiving, checking, picking, and loading of materials to and from trucks and the warehouse. This role ensures correct shipment assembly and restocking while upholding safety and quality standards.

The position requires the ability to read orders and documentation, basic math, and strong attention to detail. Candidates should be dependable, safety-minded, and able to work well in a manufacturing team

Qualifications

• Ability to read work orders, bills of material, labels and packing slips.
• Basic math, counting, measuring and inventory-recording with attention to detail.
• Must obtain and maintain authorization to operate material-handling equipment.
• Prioritize assignments, communicate discrepancies clearly, and work safely as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Unload deliveries and verify materials against orders and receiving docs.
• Inspect materials for quantity, specs, damage, and discrepancies.
• Label and store materials, maintain accurate transactions in systems.
• Pick, count, and stage materials by job and production sequence.
• Package and prepare shipments; stage in planned sequences.
• Operate forklifts and related equipment after training and authorization.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and report hazards.
