IHA is seeking a Material Handler of Linen in Michigan to support supply chain operations across SJML and off-site locations. The role requires safely handling sterile, clean, and soiled linen, transporting items, and using handheld tracking devices and warehouse software.
You may operate a van for on-site and off-site deliveries, performing PMI and routine vehicle checks. Education: high school diploma or GED; no prior experience required, and a valid Michigan driver's license is required.
Material Handlers of Linen under the direction of Supply Chain Management receives stores, collects, tracks and transport linen (sterile, clean and/or soiled) and other supplies (surgical equipment, food service items, etc.) as needed throughout SJML including off-site locations. Works well with teams, independently, efficiently and in a safe manner. Routinely utilizes computer, tracking software, handheld units, and associated Supply Chain equipment. May be assigned to a linen/supply delivery route and driving a delivery van. Must operate the van in a safe manner and abide by all Michigan driving laws. Driving responsibilities include performing Preventative Maintenance Inspections (PMI), monitoring physical condition of the van, and filling van with gas. Complete understanding and demonstrated proficiency of all area work tasks.
