Job summary

Akron Children’s is seeking a Material Linen Technician to receive, stock, issue, and transport linens and equipment throughout the department and outlying buildings. The role supports daily counts of overages/shortages and inventory control while maintaining sanitary conditions.

The position is Full Time, 3:00p-11:30p, requiring entry into patient areas and adherence to privacy standards. Healthcare experience and MS Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens and equipment across the department and outlying areas.
• Performs daily counts of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control.
• Maintain par levels to supply ancillary areas with linen.
• Fill phone requests in a timely manner.
• Operate scrub machines using a computer‑generated pick list and keep areas clean.

The Material Linen Technician receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens and equipment. Performs daily count of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control while maintaining sanitary conditions within the Department.

Full Time: 3:00p-11:30p

Responsibilities

• Receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens, and equipment which includes ancillary and outlying buildings
• Performs daily count of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control and maintains sanitary conditions within the Department
• Ancillary areas are supplied with linen by maintaining established par levels
• All phone requests must be filled in a timely manner
• Scrub machines must be filled and serviced with the use of a computer‑generated pick list
• Requires entry into patient rooms and respect for patient and parent privacy
• Must collect soiled linen according to set procedures to prevent cross contamination
• Must conduct themselves in a professional and courteous manner at all times
• Maintains sanitary conditions within the department; trash and boxes are emptied and floor swept daily
• Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency

Technical Expertise

• Experience in linen operations is preferred
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred
• Experience in healthcare is preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is preferred
