Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a Full-Time Linen Technician to receive, stock, issue and transport linens and equipment across the facility and ancillary buildings. The role includes daily counts to manage shortages, inventory control, and maintaining sanitary conditions within the department.

Daily tasks include serving needs across areas, filling requests promptly, and operating scrub machines using pick lists. Prior linen or healthcare experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MS Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word) preferred.
• Experience in linen operations or healthcare preferred.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization preferred.

• Maintain par levels for ancillary areas and fill phone requests promptly.
• Operate scrub machines with computer-generated pick lists and ensure privacy in patient rooms.
• Support other Service areas to maintain operational efficiency.

Summary

Responsibilities

• Receives, stocks, issues, picks up and transports linens, and equipment which includes ancillary and outlying buildings.
• Performs daily count of overages and shortages and assists with inventory control and maintains sanitary conditions within the Department.
• Ancillary areas are supplied with linen by maintaining established par levels.
• All phone requests must be filled in a timely manner.
• Scrub machines must be filled and serviced with the use of computer-generated pick list.
• Requires entry into patient rooms and respect to patient and parent privacy.
• Must collect soiled linen according to set procedures to prevent cross contamination.
• Must conduct themselves in professional and courteous manner at all times.
• Maintains sanitary conditions within the department. Trash and boxes are emptied and floor swept daily.
• Fill in to support other Support Services areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Technical Expertise

• Experience in linen operations is preferred.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is preferred.

Education and Experience

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Licensure: None

• Years of relevant experience: 1 year preferred.
