Job summary

Southland Industrial Coatings seeks a Material Handler for its Washington, LA facility to move, organize, and prep materials. You will operate telehandlers, forklifts, and cranes, ensuring loads are within capacity and coordinating with supervisors for efficient plant flow.

Qualifications include experience with telehandlers or forklifts, high school diploma or GED, and strong safety awareness. Expect 10-hour shifts, outdoor work, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience operating telehandlers, forklifts, and/or overhead cranes preferred/required.
• Prior telehandler experience strongly preferred, including safe lifting and placement of heavy materials.
• Regular attendance and ability to follow load charts and manufacturer guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate telehandlers, forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment.
• Safely maneuver equipment across uneven terrain and confined areas.
• Read capacity/load charts to ensure loads stay within safe limits.
• Position and secure loads before transporting materials.
• Inspect equipment before use and report defects.
