Job summary

GLS North America is seeking a Material Handler to manage the physical movement of materials on the dock area and throughout the department. Responsibilities include loading/unloading trucks, operating a forklift daily, repacking parts, and assisting in the movement of subsystems.

Qualified candidates will have a valid lift truck license, excellent communication, time management, and teamwork. Proficiency with pallet jacks, drills, pry bars, and basic computer skills is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid lift truck/hi-lo operator’s license.
• Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Must have exceptional time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be a self-starter.
• Must be a reliable team player.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent skills operating a forklift, pallet jack, drill/screw gun, and pry bar are required.
• Basic computer skills including email, Microsoft Office, and Shipper Generation.

Responsibilities

• Repack or rack parts by hand to ensure they are not damaged in transport.
• Operate a forklift daily.
• Report on when scrap dumpsters are full for removal.
• Load and unload trucks daily.
• Support delivery of large subsystems to work areas.
• Separate recyclable materials into the proper dumpsters.
• Assist in the movement of tagged parts from the salvage area.
• Ensure Hazmat materials are packaged and handled properly.
• Assist the loader operator.
• Organize outdoor staging areas for scrap and salable parts.
