Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to support production by picking, packing, receiving and moving materials safely and efficiently. You will document movements and ensure correct parts arrive at the right location using various material handling equipment.

Shift options include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, with competitive pay and a day-one benefits program. Weekly pay and retirement options are included as part of total compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in logistics and warehousing
• Intermediate to advanced computer knowledge
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials on to or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand
• Cross train in shipping, receiving, and material handling/storage
• Follow work orders and instructions to ascertain materials to be moved
• Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting
• Conveys materials from storage or worksites to designated areas
• Performs minor preventative maintenance on forklifts
• Lift heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area
• Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading and moving materials
• Assemble crates to contain products such as machines or vehicles
• Occasionally participate in training and development
• Perform any other assigned duties
