Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation in Ohio is seeking a Material Handler to lead the movement of inventory, unload and load trailers, and perform digital inventory tracking to support site operations. If you are an organized problem-solver in a fast-paced warehouse, we want to hear from you.

The role requires physical coordination, attention to detail, and readiness to work OT. Starting Hourly Pay is $22.47/hour plus a $2.00/hour shift differential, with potential for overtime to meet customer demand.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong mathematical and technical aptitude with proficiency in data entry/ERP systems (MFG Pro preferred).
  • Resilience & adaptability; collaboration; detail focus; flexible for overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Material Movement: Safely transport raw materials, WIP, and finished goods between receiving, storage, and production areas.
  • Trailer & Freight Handling: Safely load and unload trucks/tankers and verify shipments against paperwork.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Perform digital inventory transactions, conduct cycle counts, and resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Safety: Maintain 5S standards, promote safety, and support recycling efforts.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate shift updates and assist cross-functional teams.

Job Description

Work Schedule: 11:20 PM -7:30 AM Sun-Thurs

Starting Hourly Pay: $22.47/hour + $2.00/hour Shift Differential

As a Material Handler, you will lead the movement of physical inventory, unload and load trailers, and perform digital inventory tracking to support overall site success. If you are an organized problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced logistics environment, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Movement: Safely transport raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods between receiving, storage, and production areas.
  • Trailer & Freight Handling: Safely load and unload trucks/tankers and verify physical shipments against shipping and receiving paperwork.
  • Inventory Accuracy: Perform digital inventory transactions (MFG Pro/ERP), conduct physical cycle counts, and actively resolve stock discrepancies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Safety: Maintain 5S housekeeping standards, promote safety practices, and support facility recycling efforts.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate shift updates, assist cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills & Aptitude: Strong mathematical and technical aptitude with proficiency in computer data entry/ERP systems (MFG Pro preferred).
  • Behavioral Competencies:
    • Resilience & Adaptability: Ability to stay organized, prioritize tasks, and adjust quickly to changing daily warehouse priorities.
    • Collaboration: Strong team orientation with a focus on clear communication and helping peers succeed.
    • Detail Focus: Commitment to safety rules, SOP guidelines, and zero-defect inventory quality.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime as needed to support customer demand.
Preferred Experience
  • 3+ years in material handling, shipping/receiving, or warehouse logistics.
  • Experience operating forklifts/material handling equipment.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles (ELS / 5S).
