Job summary

J&L Building Materials is seeking a Material Handler at our Douglassville branch to provide excellent customer service onsite and prepare loads for deliveries. The role requires operating a forklift, organizing materials, and maintaining safe, efficient warehouse operations.

Starting pay is $18.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, HSA, 401(k) with match, profit sharing, PTO and holidays. Training will cover safety procedures and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus 1 year warehouse experience or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Preferred: strong attention to detail, customer service, math skills, forklift operation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and accurate material fulfillment.
• Operate forklift to load, unload, and transport materials; perform pre-op checks.
• Organize materials by size, type, and product code; ensure proper inventory.
• Complete paperwork accurately and maintain safety procedures.
• Maintain 40-hour weekly core hours and occasional Saturday shifts after training.
