Job summary

Stratas Foods is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator to join our Nashville warehouse team. The role involves safely operating sit-down forklifts, scanning with RF devices, and moving materials while maintaining precise inventory records.

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler/Forklift Operator with experience using RF (Radio Frequency) scanners to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to load, unload, and move materials within the facility while ensuring accurate inventory tracking using RF scanning equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Safely operate sit-down forklift to move products and materials throughout facility.
  2. Use RF scanners to accurately scan, put away, receive, pick, and ship inventory.
  3. Load and unload trailers, stage materials, and transport goods within the warehouse.
  4. Perform daily equipment inspections and report any safety or maintenance issues.
  5. Ensure proper product labeling and placement based on warehouse standards.
  6. Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and transactions.
  7. Follow all Safety, GMP, and Warehouse protocols and procedures.
  8. Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
  9. Support general warehouse duties such as packing, labeling, and organizing materials.
  10. Complete all required documentation as required
  11. Pallet building
  12. Perform Oil railcar, RAW, or product sampling as required with supervision
  13. Move pallets of product in system
  14. Regularly accomplish Environmental Waste/sludge activities to transfer intermediate waste to bulk storage containers.
  15. Perform a variety of other miscellaneous duties as assigned or qualified for as Material Handler.
MANDATORY OVERTIME MAY BE REQUIRED SOME WEEKS
Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1-2 years of forklift operator experience required

Equipment/Software Skills: Ability to achieve proficiency in onsite forklift testing and evaluation; experience with RF scanners and warehouse systems; basic computer knowledge; experience in fast-paced warehouse/distribution/manufacturing settings; knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS); Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Additional Information

Physical: Must be able to walk throughout the plant, to include walking and climbing up/downstairs and ladders (portable, fixed). Must have be ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally is required.

Sensory: Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.)

Mental/Reasoning: Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
