Job summary

Stratas Foods in Quincy, IL seeks a Production Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse and shipping activities, ensure shipment accuracy, receive materials, and maintain inventory integrity across operations.

You will lead and train staff, enforce safety and GMP/HACCP, monitor inventory, and coordinate with Operations; forklift operation and training are part of the role, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • BS in related degree/program preferred.
  • Experience in warehouse management within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in internet, MS Office Word and Excel; willingness and ability to become proficient in inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge and accurate use of RF/scanning inventory systems.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to the position.
  • Adhere to GMP and HACCP requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules and policies.
  • Delegate and assign tasks and targets and evaluate staff performance.
  • Provide leadership by setting clear expectations and high standards of work and safety.
  • Evaluate performance and provide guidance to employees.
  • Utilize electronic inventory scanning equipment for training.
  • Monitor loading and receiving operations.
  • Receive packaged products and inbound supplies.
  • Cross-train with Operations and provide backup as a Production Supervisor when needed.
  • Conduct weekly toolbox training.
  • Monitor inventory regularly and conduct monthly inventory reconciliation.
  • Complete all paperwork/reports related to the role.
  • Operate forklift and provide forklift operation training to employees.
  • Act as fill-in for Superintendent in the area when absent.
  • Attend daily production/quality meetings.

Job Description

Supervise and assist in daily warehouse and shipping areas including: shipping customer orders, satisfying internal shipping requirements, ensuring accuracy of shipments and supporting documentation, receiving incoming material and routing to appropriate area or personnel and receiving in finished goods, ensuring inventory transactions are accurately logged and overseeing cycle counts and reconciliation activities.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety, food safety, environmental, GMP rules, regulations and policies.

  • Evaluateperformance and administer appropriate guidance to employees.

  • Utilize and demonstrate (for training) use of electronic inventory scanning equipment.

  • Monitor loading and receiving operations.

  • Receive packaged products and inbound supplies.

  • Cross-train with Operations and provide backup as a Production Supervisor when needed.

  • Conducts weekly tool box training.

  • Monitor inventory regularly.

  • Conduct monthly inventory reconciliation.

  • Complete all associated paperwork/reports correctly to perform this position.

  • Operate forklift and provide forklift operation training to employees.

  • Act as fill in for the job of Superintendent in the area in which they work in the case of an absence.

  • Attend daily production/quality meetings.


Qualifications

Education:High School diploma or equivalent required. BS in related degree/program preferred.


Related Experience:Experience in warehouse management within a manufacturing environment is preferred.


Equipment/Software Skills:Proficient use of internet, MS Office Word and Excel. Willingness and ability to become proficient in inventory management systems utilized by the company. Work also involves knowledge and accurate use of RF/scanning inventory systems.

Additional information

Physical: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights. Must be able to walk throughout the plant up to eight-plus (8+) hours at a time, to include walking and climbing up/down stairs and ladders (portable, fixed).


Sensory:Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.)


Mental/Reasoning:Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.
