Job summary

Sonoco is seeking a Material Handler in Jefferson, TX for third shift. You will load, unload, and move wood reels, collaborating with production and shipping to ensure materials flow smoothly and safely.

Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred), good attendance, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand all shift. Overtime may be required; 5S standards and accurate records are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent attendance is crucial for team success.
• Experience in fast-paced environments required.
• Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and identify discrepancies.
• Strong analytical, hands-on abilities, organization and attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand 8 hours.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Willing to work overtime when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport wood components and finished reels using forklifts and other equipment.
• Collaborate with production to move materials and meet line metrics.
• Assist the plant in various areas.
• Maintain 5S cleanliness in the work area and department.
• Document quantities loaded/unloaded accurately.
• Perform tasks safely and efficiently.
• Daily inspection of material handling equipment.
