Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center in the United States.

The role focuses on safe forklift operation, material handling, and accurate shipping paperwork, contributing to efficient distribution of building products. Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift.
• Ability to understand and follow directions.
• Ability to work independently at times under pressure.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety data sheets, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.

The fixed rate is $25.15 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
