BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator at our distribution center in the United States. The role focuses on safe forklift operation, loading/unloading materials, and accurate paperwork for shipping.

We offer a fixed wage of $18.08 per hour with a Monday – Friday schedule, comprehensive benefits, and 401(k) matching. Candidates should have forklift experience and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Excellent attendance and reliability are valued.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience required.
• Ability to safely operate forklift and follow safety guidelines.
• Capable of reading orders and following directions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Load, unload, and store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and basic maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What We’re Looking For:

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks
• Ability to understand and follow directionsAbility to work independently at times under pressure
• Ability to handle physical tasks, such as lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to read/comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety material, etc.
• Safe work record and stable work history

The fixed rate is XXXX per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations.
