Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is seeking a Material Handler/Forklift Operator for our distribution center in the United States. The role focuses on safe forklift operation, material handling, and accurate paperwork to support shipping and distribution.

Qualifications

• One year or more forklift/warehouse experience.
• Ability to proficiently and safely use forklift to transport products, load/unload trucks.
• Ability to read and comprehend sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, etc.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs. and work independently under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars with minimal damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare paperwork for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the working area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do:

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk)
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Performs daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assists in periodic inventory counts as requested.

The fixed rate is $22.52 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Actual compensation will depend on factors including experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and other job-related considerations. BlueLinx also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health care, dental, vision, life and disability insurance starting the first day of the month, 15 days of paid time off that start accruing your first day, and 8 paid holidays per year.
