Job summary

Fontana in Holly, Michigan is seeking a General Factory / Material Handler for 1st shift. You will perform material handling, operate equipment like Butt Welder and Straightener, and ensure quality throughout production lines.

Responsibilities include setup, first piece inspection, documentation, forklift material moves, and supporting colleagues. Preferred are some mechanical training and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Ability to use gauges and gauging techniques.
• Ability to consistently meet production and quality standards.
• Understanding of required operator documentation.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Identify routine problem causation and correct routine problems.
• Use math for blueprint reading and SPC.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Must comply with safety guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Set-up and operate equipment such as Butt Welder, Wire Drum, Straightener.
• Perform first piece inspection, monitor the quality of all parts, and make adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Sorting and inspection of manufactured parts.
• Perform the duties required for any necessary documentation.
• Move material by operating a forklift or using non-motorized devices.
• Assist other operators as needed.
• Suggest process improvement ideas.
• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
