Job Summary: As a Material Handler at LogistiQ, A Division of LEWCO , you will be a part of our Operations Support team. This person is to always be present on the production floor. This role is to keep the workstation’s focus on value-adding activities. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the work processes and excellent communication abilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
  • Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
  • Reviews materials for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
  • Confirms details and special instructions.
  • Transports and loads materials, supplies and finished goods manually and/or using hand trucks forklifts, and skids.
  • Collects and properly disposes of scrap, cardboard, and waste from work centers.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • Able to pass pre-employment math test.
  • Able to proficiently use measuring equipment preferred.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings with some assistance/training preferred.
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerance preferred.
  • Able to read a tape measure within 1/16”.
  • Able to operate a forklift.
  • Understanding of production processes.
  • Basic reading and writing skills in the English language.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
  • Basic data entry skills including how to print documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Successful completion of 60-day probationary period.

Education And Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

Work Environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the non-airconditioned work environment is usually moderate. All required PPE, including steel toe shoes, must be worn and a clean work environment must be maintained.
