Didion Orf Recycling is seeking a Material Handler/Excavator Operator to move and organize metals, while upholding our core values of being personable, tenacious, and innovative. The role emphasizes safe operation of excavators, precise materials handling, and responsive customer service.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience operating excavators or material handlers, solid communication, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience operating excavator or material handler.
• Strong communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in scrap metals or demolition is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavator/material handler to move and organize metals.
• Identify, sort, and process materials.
• Load/unload trucks safely with excavator.
• Provide customer service.
• Inspect and stage materials daily.
• Report non-conforming materials.
• Organize yard and make space for new products.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections.

Duties And Responsibilities Of The Material Handler Operator

• Operate material handler (excavator) with grapple, magnet and/or shear to move, manage and organize metals.
• Adequately identify, handle, sort and process materials.
• Load and unload trucks with metals in a safe manner with excavator.
• Customer service.
• Perform the staging and inspection of materials.
• Report non-conforming materials.
• Assist with organization of steel yard and make space for new product daily.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance inspections on equipment before operating.

Skills And Experience

• MORE THAN 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED accurately, efficiently and safely operating excavator/material handler.
• Good communication skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in scrap metals and/or demoliton is a plus.
