Job summary

M&M Recycling, Inc. is seeking an experienced Excavator/Crane Operator to run a hammer mill shredder in a fast-paced scrap yard environment in Locust Grove, GA.

This is a full-time role with overtime potential and room to grow within a safety-minded team. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of excavator operating experience, preferably in scrap, demolition, or similar heavy equipment environments, and hands-on experience with grapples and magnets.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of excavator operating experience, ideally in scrap yard, demolition, or similar heavy equipment environment loading hammermills.
• Hands-on experience operating grapples and magnets; shear experience is a strong plus.
• Strong safety mindset with a track record of working safely in fast-paced outdoor environments.
• Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented with the ability to communicate clearly with ground crews and fellow operators.

Responsibilities

• Feed the hammer mill safely and consistently to meet production targets.
• Sort, stage, and organize material to support efficient production flow.
• Perform daily inspections, basic maintenance, and housekeeping on equipment to maintain safe operation.
• Communicate clearly with the ground crew and other operators to coordinate safe movements in a busy yard.

The Opportunity:

We are looking for an experienced Excavator/Crane Operator to run / feed a hammer mill shredder safely.

This is a solid, full-time opportunity for a dependable operator who wants steady work, overtime potential, and room to grow.

You need a minimum of 7-10 years of experience on material handlers or DO NOT apply

What You'll Do:

• Feed the mill consistently all day to produce a minimum of 6 trailer loads.
• Sort, stage, and organize materials so you can do your production.
• Perform daily inspections, basic maintenance, and housekeeping on your equipment to keep it in safe working condition.
• Communicate clearly with the ground crew and other operators to coordinate safe moves in a busy, fast-paced yard.

What Success Looks Like:

• Within 30-60 days, you confidently and safely operate our excavators with minimal supervision while following all safety procedures.
• You consistently load the shredder to meet or exceed daily and weekly yard production targets.
• Equipment under your care remains in good working order through thorough pre-trip inspections and timely reporting of issues.
• You earn the trust of your team by being reliable, communicating well, and contributing to a safe, efficient, team-focused environment.
