Job summary

BlueLinx Holdings Inc. is hiring a Material Handler/Forklift Operator in the Portland, OR area to support our distribution center operations. You will operate forklifts, load/unload materials, keep work areas clean, and assist with inventory counts in a team-focused environment.

The role requires forklift experience, the ability to lift up to 75 lbs, and adherence to safety guidelines; the position offers a Monday–Friday schedule with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• One year or recent forklift/warehouse experience.
• Able to operate forklift safely.
• Experience operating cutting machinery.
• Ability to read and understand sales orders, purchase orders, safety materials, etc.
• Physically able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Safe work record and stable work history.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift in compliance with forklift training and safety guidelines.
• Operate EWP cutting machinery with training and safety guidelines.
• Load/unload/store building materials from trailers or rail cars while minimizing damage.
• Store and retrieve material (piece pick and/or bulk).
• Prepare the paperwork required for distribution and shipping of products.
• Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in working and assigned area.
• Assist in periodic inventory counts as requested.

What You’ll Do
