Job summary

OBE is seeking a Material Handler I for Glass Furnace to move materials and expedite production across the plant. The role involves on/off-loading from tables, racks, trucks, or crates and reports to the Production Supervisor.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work 5am–5pm, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays. Pay starts at $20/hour with a pay range of $19.38–$25.05 USD, and opportunities for raises and bonuses.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move on concrete for 8-10 hours.
• Willingness to work 5am–5pm with occasional Saturdays.
• Attention to detail for safety, quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Move materials between positions to expedite production.
• Load/unload products from tables, racks, trucks, or crates.
• Read work orders and follow safety/quality standards.
• Label and tag products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic measurements with a tape measure.

What You’ll Get to Do

The Material Handler I for Glass Furnace is focused on moving material including glass and/or metal from one position/location to another to expedite the product throughout the plant. To include on/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates and reports to theProduction Supervisor.

This role is perfect for an individual who has an attention to detail (safety, quality, efficiency) strong work ethic/reliability and is a problem solver. A vital member of the Production Departments, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

• On/off-loading of the product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Reads work orders and follows job standards for safety, quality and production.
• Attach appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
• Read and interpret basic mathematical measurements while effectively using a tape measure.

What We Are Looking For

• Ability to work independently and prioritize work with deadlines; ability to work overtime when required.
• Prior work experience performed inside a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to lift up to 75lbs unassisted.
• Ability to stand and move around on your feet for 8-10 hours per day on a concrete floor.
• Able to withstand noise levels in the work environment that can be moderate to high.
• Prior work history in a plant facility that is subject to the same climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
• Pay starts at $20/hour
• Must be available from 5am - 5pm Monday to Friday with occasional work Saturdays

Position Pay Range

$19.38 - $25.05 USD
