Job summary

Neil Jones Food Company in Firebaugh, CA is seeking a Seasonal Material Handler C to distribute raw and packaging materials to all departments at the TomaTek plant. This role documents activity for accurate inventory during the fresh pack season (June–October).

You will load and unload trucks, complete transfer forms, manage FIFO, and supply the Ingredient Room and Production with needed materials. A daily shift log must be maintained and proper forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; or at least one year of relevant experience as defined by the employer.
• Forklift certification and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to perform essential duties.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and work extended hours, including weekends, during the fresh pack season.
• Eligible for paid sick leave.

Responsibilities

• Performs loading and unloading of trucks as directed.
• Completes forms for transfer and distribution of raw products and packaging materials to maintain inventory.
• Transfers and returns materials following FIFO procedures.
• Supplies Ingredient Room and Production with required materials for the run.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for aseasonal Material Handler C to distribute raw/packaging materials to all associated departments. This role will be responsible for completing the paperwork that documents all activity, so the inventory can be accurately maintained at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA .This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June - October.

• Performs the loading and unloading trucks as directed.
• Completes all appropriate forms for transfer/distributing raw products and packaging materials to maintain an accurate inventory level.
• Transfer and return raw products/packaging materials following the FIFO (First In First Out) process.
• Supply Ingredient Room and Production with the proper materials needed for the run according to the MSP's.
• Ensure a thorough pass down to the following shift handler and maintains a Daily Production Logbook.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); or at least one-year relevant experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift certification and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to perform essential duties.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
• Eligible for paid sick leave
