Job summary

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a Seasonal- Filler Operator-Pouch I at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. You will operate Cryovac fillers, Imaje printer, Video Jet and Checkweigher, ensuring pouch seal integrity and correct print codes during our fresh-pack season (June–October).

Requires a high school diploma or GED, basic arithmetic, and English literacy; willingness to work extended hours, weekends, and to pass a pre-employment drug test. Paid sick leave offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using US units.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to perform duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate Cryovac Fillers, Imaje Printer, Video Jet and Checkweigher equipment.
• Maintain pouch seal integrity and correct printing codes per MSP.
• Monitor pouches for defects and verify size/weight per sheet.
• Ensure End/Center Seal and temperature settings match film type.
• Complete required operator documentation accurately.

Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation's discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a Seasonal- Filler Operator-Pouch I to operate the Cryovac Fillers, Imaje Printer, Video Jet and Checkweigher equipment. This role will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the pouch seals at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June - October.

• Accurate completion of filler operator documentation and required paperwork.
• Set-up of the Checkweigher and Image printer for production and ensures that the code is correct and is clearly printing in accordance with the Pouch Operation Sheet.
• Consistent monitoring of pouches being produced for defects.
• Verifies proper size (length) & weights of pouches being produced are in accordance with the Pouch Operations Sheet.
• Verifies End Seal, Center Seal and temperature settings are set according to film type and ensures correct film is always used according to the MSP.

Requirements:

• Requires a High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or at least one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Requires the ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Requires the ability to read, write, and speak English to perform the essential duties.
• Abilityto effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
• Eligible for paid sick leave
