Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a 1st shift Material Handler to report to the Warehouse Manager. This role will maintain and verify outbound shipment records and stock for all stations in the department, with hours Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm.

The position requires forklift operation, basic math, problem solving, and teamwork in a lean manufacturing environment. Training and safety compliance are emphasized, with standard plant safety protocols in place.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years forklift experience, ideally in a metal fabrication shop.
• Experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience moving large metal objects.
• Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, following work orders or instructions.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated areas using a forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• Occasionally operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Fills out a daily inspection before starting up the forklift.
• Assists with routine housekeeping tasks as they relate to the plants 6S plan.
• Ensures compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
