Job summary

POET in Ashton, IA is seeking a Material Handler to load and unload feed and fuel products using heavy equipment, meters and scales to ensure on-time delivery and product safety.

Responsibilities include operating machinery, completing DOT paperwork when required, maintaining a clean work area and adhering to safety procedures in a demanding bioprocessing environment. Weekend/holiday work and potential extended hours are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience operating heavy machinery or related equipment preferred.
• DOT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new programs.

Responsibilities

• Load trucks/rail cars with feed and fuel products using equipment, meters and scales.
• Assist with grain product or biomass unloading and grading.
• Operate machinery and perform required maintenance.
• Complete HAZMAT paperwork when necessary.
• Maintain clean work area and follow safety procedures.
