Job Purpose: To operate forklifts safely and efficiently; handle all freight inbound or outbound properly and in an orderly manner; maintain warehouse area with proper stacking and good housekeeping; load/unload RJW trucks/trailers and outside carriers safely using proper procedures; ensure all shipments are correctly staged, checked, and loaded; store stock properly in the warehouse; perform duties related to material handling for shipping and receiving activities. Operate from warehouse sheets using a forklift to pick customer orders and load trailers. Maintain forklift safety following all policies and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

1. Assist Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient warehouse operations.
2. Operate sit-down forklifts and/or EPJs.
3. Use computers and handheld RF equipment effectively.
4. Safely load and unload trucks/trailers, including outside carriers' equipment.
5. Work flexible hours, including 10 to 12-hour shifts, and be comfortable working at heights.
6. Handle stock weighing from 1 lb. to 50 lbs., multiple times.
7. Ensure shipments are staged and loaded correctly.
8. Maintain an organized warehouse with proper stacking and housekeeping.
9. Process outbound cross-dock freight as needed.
10. Store stock properly and move products into storage racks.
11. Use warehouse sheets to pick customer orders and load trailers.
12. Verify shipment accuracy against paperwork.
13. Complete all documentation properly.
14. Operate forklifts safely, following OSHA and company safety policies, including wearing seatbelts and performing daily inspections.
15. Handle customer products properly and check for damages, reporting issues to supervisors with photos if necessary.
16. Report accidents, damages, or incidents immediately.
17. Spot trailers to maintain yard organization and flow.
18. Keep dock doors accessible and free of debris or snow.
19. Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.

Additional Responsibilities

• Work with urgency, accountability, and minimal supervision.
• Possess basic computer and RF equipment skills.
• Read, write, and understand English.
• Pay attention to detail and quality.
• Communicate clearly and resolve problems effectively.
• Be flexible to work overtime and cover other shifts.
• Have experience operating sit-down forklifts/EPJs.
• Build and break down pallets, and handle cross-docking freight.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Warehousing certifications are a plus.
