Job summary

Merit Medical Systems in South Jordan, UT is seeking a Material Handler Assistant Coordinator for the weekend shift. You will coordinate activities for Material Handlers, support process flow, and work closely with production and planning teams.

This role requires strong math, communication, and computer skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Weekends: Fri-Sun 5:30am-5:30pm, with opportunities across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a High School Diploma, with two years of related experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math and the ability to apply it in a work situation.
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with others to accomplish goals.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Ability to work under strict time constraints and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Demonstrated computer skills preferably spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applicable software programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the work responsibilities for the Material Handlers, and ensures the proper and efficient completion of assignments and processes.
• Assists with interviewing job applicants.
• Provides supervisor employee performance information for their evaluation process and assist with the performance review.
• Trains Material Handlers regarding job responsibilities.
• Problem solves clean room issues by locating work orders and parts and responding to paper work questions and concerns.
• Makes minor adjustments to work order pick lists.
• Works with the Production and Inventory Clerk teams to verify pick lists, lot numbers and materials inventory counts.
• Notifies Planning, Purchasing and Production of material shortages and responds to adjustments in production schedules.
• Organizes and participates in team meetings.
• Compiles and records data for team goals and management distribution.
• Operates forklifts, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment.
• Performs cycle counts and inventories for raw materials.
• Performs other related duties and tasks as required.
