Job summary

BroadBean is seeking a Materials Handler to support the Materials department in the operation of material handling. You will load/unload trucks, move materials to production floors or storage, and operate forklifts to store or deliver materials.

The role requires forklift certification readiness, ability to lift 40 lbs, and tolerance for overtime as production demands dictate. You will work as part of a collaborative team focused on accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Must be able to become forklift certified.
• Ability to work overtime, as production demands require.
• Ability to function as an effective team member.
• Ability to follow operation procedures and assess problems and recommend solutions to resolve problems.
• Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions.
• Must be able to physically lift 40 lbs.
• Prior forklift experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks with incoming or outgoing materials and inventories/moves materials to storage or destination.
• Operates company truck to move materials to or from plant.
• Unloads steel and moves to storage areas.
• Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as needed to store or deliver materials.
• Reports daily activities as required.
• Coordinates material flow, replenishment, and packaging of aftermarket materials.

Area of Accountability:

Works as a member of the Materials department to assist in the operation of material handling.

Major Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks with either incoming or outgoing materials. Inventories/counts and moves raw and finished materials from the production floor or storage areas to their intended destination.
• Operates the company truck to move materials to or from plant.
• Unloads steel trucks as they arrive and moves steel to storage areas.
• Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as necessary to store or deliver materials.
• Accurately reports daily activities as required.
• Material flow, presentation and replenishment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes such as cycle counting and scrap reporting are preferred.
• Inventories, prepares and packages aftermarket materials for shipment.
• Proficient in using handheld scanner and/or pc to perform inventory transactions.
• Coordinates UPS shipments and receipts.
• Keeps work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Exercises safe work habits.
• Maintain a clean safety record for operating all material handling equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Area Leader or Supervisor.
