Job summary

Hendrickson in Navarre, OH is seeking a Material Handler to support the Materials department in daily material handling tasks on the production floor.

You will load/unload trucks, operate forklifts, perform cycle counts and use handheld scanners to track materials, ensuring accurate inventory and timely replenishment.

Applicants should be able to lift 40 lbs, work overtime as needed, and maintain a safe, clean work environment while following all procedures and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write legibly.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Follow procedures and resolve basic problems.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks and inventories materials.
• Operates forklifts to move materials to storage or production areas.
• Maintains accurate inventory records using scanner/PC.
• Coordinates shipments and receipts.
• Ensures clean and safe work areas.
• Reports daily activities as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Area Of Accountability

Works as a member of the Materials department to assist in the operation of material handling.

Major Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks with either incoming or outgoing materials. Inventories/counts and moves raw and finished materials from the production floor or storage areas to their intended destination.
• Operates the company truck to move materials to or from plant.
• Unloads steel trucks as they arrive and moves steel to storage areas.
• Operates sit-down lift and high-reach lift trucks as necessary to store or deliver materials.
• Accurately reports daily activities as required.
• Material flow, presentation and replenishment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of inventory control processes such as cycle counting and scrap reporting are preferred.
• Inventories, prepares and packages aftermarket materials for shipment.
• Proficient in using handheld scanner and/or pc to perform inventory transactions.
• Coordinates UPS shipments and receipts.
• Keeps work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Exercises safe work habits
• Maintain a clean safety record for operating all material handling equipment.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Area Leader or Supervisor.

• Must be able to meet production standards and follow instructions
• Must be able to physically lift 40 lbs.
• Prior forklift experience a plus
