Job summary

Metalcraft of Mayville, Inc. is seeking a forklift/material handler for 3rd shift (10pm–6am, Sunday–Thursday) to manage outbound records and stock for all stations. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, moving materials with forklift, and ensuring safety and 6S housekeeping standards.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years forklift experience, preferably in a metal fabrication shop, plus experience in fast-paced environments and Lean manufacturing.

• Experience in a fast-paced environment and moving large metal objects.
• Lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move materials within plant, yard, or work site according to instructions.
• Load/unload materials onto/from pallets, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Move materials to designated areas using forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• Occasionally operate industrial truck or hoist to assist in loading/moving materials.
• Record daily forklift inspections.
• Assist with housekeeping as per 6S plan and ensure safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties: Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
• Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area, using a forklift, hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
• May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Required to fill out an daily inspection before starting up the forklift
• Assists with routine or general housekeeping tasks as they relate to the plants 6s plan.
• Ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2 years of forklift experience ideally in a metal fabrication shop
• Experience in a fast pace environment.
• Previous experience with moving large metal objects.
• Previous experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
