Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Material Handler 3 for the 1st shift in Rolling Meadows, IL. You will perform stocking, picking, and material movement within the Micro-Electronics stockroom to support production.

The role requires experience with SAP, ERP systems, and precision tooling, with duties including documentation, safety compliance, and cross-functional coordination with engineering and quality teams. Candidates must be able to lift 30 pounds and work under a microscope.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant work experience, or an Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to count, transact, stage, and prepare materials as required.
• Experience documenting information related to product, material, quality, quantity, etc.
• Hands-on experience with precision tooling and handling equipment.
• Experience reading/interpreting drawings.

Responsibilities

• Stocking, picking, consolidating, and moving material in the Micro-Electronics stockroom and to manufacturing areas.
• Utilize SAP inventory system to transact, track, and analyze material activity.
• Maintain ESD practices and cleanroom/handling procedures to prevent contamination or damage.
• Coordinate with engineering/quality/production teams on holds, escapes, and process changes.
• Operate with precision tooling and inspect microelectronic components under a microscope.
• Assist in product builds, disassembly, repairs, and reassembly as needed.

The Material Handler responsibilities will include: Stocking, picking, consolidating, and moving material within the Micro-Electronics stockroom and to the Micro-Electronics manufacturing areas using Waffle Packs & ESD sensitive containers. The selected candidate will utilize SAP inventory systems to transact, track, and analyze material activity. The individual will efficiently utilize space and equipment within the Micro-Electronic storeroom to meet established priorities and comply with company PrOPs.What you will get to do:Stocking: Receive material into the Micro-Electronics stockroom and bin into unique locations.Picking: Issue material from stock to the production floor in support of kitting, line stoppers, & manual pulls.Consolidating: Efficiently utilizing space by consolidating similar material together within unique bin locations.ESD and cleanliness control: Apply Northrop Grumman ESD practices and follow cleanroom/handling procedures to prevent contamination, corrosion, or surface damage that can cause poor adhesion.Documentation & traceability: Complete work instructions and records accuratelySafety & material compliance: Follow Northrop Grumman's EH&S chemical handling/Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and safety procedures; ensure proper waste handling and storage of hazardous materials.Cross-functional coordination: Communicate with engineering/quality/production teams on holds, escapes, supplier issues, and process changes; participate in continuous improvement.Specialize Tooling: Use precision picking instruments to ensure safe handling of small/fragile components.Microscope and manual dexterity operations: Perform precision inspection and handling of microelectronic components using a microscope and fine motor skills to ensure parts meet quality and configuration requirements.Product Builds: Assembles, disassembles, repairs, and reassembles precision assemblies and corrects malfunctions.Certifications: Complete in-house ESD, FOD, and other applicable certifications.Systems: Use Enterprise Resource Planning Software such as Systems Applications Products in Data Processing (SAP).Use of Microsoft Office products. (EX. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Note, Teams, etc.)Interface with production teams and share information as required.Basic Qualifications for the Precision Electromechanical Assembler 3:High school diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience or an Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant work experience.Ability to count, transact, stage, and prepare materials as required.Experience accurately documenting information related to product, material, quality, quantity, etc.Hands on experience with precision tooling and handling equipment.Experience following work instructions and reading/interpreting drawings.Works well in a team environment and demonstrates a “Can Do” attitude.Basic Math & Computer SkillsAbility to lift 30 pounds on a daily basis.Ability to work under a microscope for 4–6 hours per shift.Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance.U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with material handling in a cleanroom environment.Experience working with and using a microscope.Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP.Experience with temperature sensitive material.Experience with using digital scales for counting purposes.Experience using specialized handheld tools (Vacuum Pen, Tweezers, etc.) used to handle very small, fragile items with good dexterity.Primary Level Salary Range: $49,100.00 - $81,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
