Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Inventory Material Control Support Level 2 in Commerce, CA on 1st shift. You will compile records on material quantity, cost, and movement, process requisitions, and verify receipts against orders.

You’ll help ensure accurate ERP data and support packing, labeling, and movement of items. Qualifications include a high school diploma, 1–2 years in shipping/inventory, a valid CA driver's license, and ERP/MRP experience (SAP/Costpoint).

• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to move parts up to 50 lbs and forklift certification or ability to obtain.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Kits parts per Bill of Materials.
• Completes bills of lading using major freight carrier forms.
• Performs Inventory Transactions within ERP system.
• Ensures electronic relocation transactions are completed in ERP when items move.
• Interprets packing slips and records information into systems.
• Understands packaging requirements and visual aids for packaging.

Northrop Grumman Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit designs, manufactures and operates small and medium-class spacecraft for communications, imaging, scientific, exploration and national security space applications. The Propulsion team within the Mission Enabling Products Business Unit is the leading supplier of pressure vessels and tank hardware to the aerospace industry. You will work on assigned programs on non-recurring work as well as provide technical support on the shop floor.

Our Propulsion team in Commerce, CA is seeking an Inventory Material Control Support Level 2 to join our 1st shift team.

The Inventory Material Control Support 2 employee compiles records concerned with quantity, cost, and type of material received, in stock, or issued. Requisitions needed supplies; verifies material received to determine irregularities in order; inspects articles and rejects defective ones. Prepares inventory records and reports and investigates discrepancies in stock counts.

Responsibilities:

• Kits parts per Bill of Materials.
• Completes bills of lading using various forms required by major freight carriers.
• Perform Inventory Transactions within ERP system.
• Ensure electronic relocation transactions are completed in ERP system when physical movements of items are performed.
• Interprets packing slips, accurately enters information into the computer, and acknowledges receipt of goods in the purchase order and processing database.
• Knowledge of proper packaging methods and the ability to interpret visual aids outlining specific packaging requirements.

Basic Qualifications for Level 2:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years Shipping, receiving, and/or inventory experience.
• Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Perform physical requirements of the position: using pallet jack or other equipment to move parts weighing up to 50 lbs, as required.
• Forklift certified or ability to obtain Forklift certification.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Costpoint, or similar enterprise systems.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)

Primary Level Salary Range: $43,400.00 - $72,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
