Job summary

Trane Italia in Grand Rapids is seeking a hands-on Material Handler to support on-site manufacturing operations. You may rotate across areas and must be able to obtain certification for operation of Mules, Tuggers, and Powered Industrial Trucks.

The role centers on receiving freight, data entry, and adhering to 5S standards, with teamwork and strong communication essential. Work hours are 2:30pm-1:00am, Monday through Thursday, with an hourly base pay of $22.00.

Qualifications

  • Reads and writes English for assembly directions and work orders.
  • Completion of basic Forklift Training and Safety Orientation.
  • 3–6 months of material handling experience.
  • Strong computer skills and data entry experience.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs. and work in a fast-moving environment.

Where is the work:

On-Site (5 days)

What’s in it for you:

The general material process may require the employee to work at any station during the workday dependent on staffing and production demands. All employees may be expected to rotate to different areas, or they may be required to work in a specific area depending on experience, training, and skill level to perform work tasks. May be required to obtain certification for operation of Mules, Tuggers, Powered Industrial Trucks, Stackers and/or Overhead Cranes.

Work Shift Hours: 2:30pm-1:00am Monday-Thursday.

  • Responsible receiving freight and checking it in.
  • Follow 5S standards for area.
  • Responsible for entering data into the systems.
  • Good verbal communication and excellent analytical/problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and demonstrate a positive work attitude.
What you will bring:
  • Must have the ability to lift 35 lbs., as requested.
  • Ability to read and write English for assembly directions, work order packets and safety instructions.
  • Completion of basic Forklift Training and Safety Orientation.
  • 3 – 6 months of material handling experience
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Must have the ability to keep up with high volume in a fast-moving environment.

This position has been designated by the company as safety sensitive.
