Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, handling, staging products, and preparing items for customer delivery while maintaining a safe and organized factory environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts.
• Verify quantity and quality of orders, inspect for damages, and ensure correct shipping and receiving processes.
• Wrap, package, and ship orders; perform administrative tasks like attaching labels, organizing records, and completing logs.
• Determine storage locations, assist with moving incoming items, and pick orders per work instructions.
• Operate forklifts safely, assist with truck loading/unloading, and record damaged items.
• Ensure all shipments are properly labeled with necessary documents and maintain safety standards in the shipping/receiving area.
• Work cohesively within a team and participate in cross-functional projects.

Other Duties

• Cross-training in shipping tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in shipping, receiving, or manufacturing (preferred).
• At least 1 year of forklift driving experience.
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in English; basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills for administrative tasks.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, lift, and move objects over 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit, and walk continuously for an 8+ hour shift.
• Work in varying weather conditions inside the plant.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
