Job summary

GE Aerospace is seeking a warehouse associate at the Dayton, OH site to support shipping and receiving, packaging, and material movement. You will prepare domestic shipments, verify order accuracy, and use standard processes to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires forklift operation, lifting up to 40 pounds, and adherence to safety and Lean manufacturing guidelines. 18+ and valid license are required for this position.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform domestic dock shipments preparation including crating, boxing, labeling.
• Verify pack lists and ship boxes for domestic shipments.
• Operate a forklift and assist with unloading/receiving materials.
• Maintain 5S housekeeping and follow lean manufacturing guidelines.

Job description

TDI has been leading design and manufacturer of turbine powered start systems for 40+ years and designer of turbine air motors for over 60 years. The TDI site in Dayton, OH is a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company. Unison is uniquely positioned to introduce the next-gen Air Turbine Starter for the CMF56-7B fleet. At the TDI site, Unison also produces Surface Coolers and Bellows to support the aerospace industry.

Role Overview

• Provides general material support throughout the site
• General housekeeping in area (5S)
• Prepares domestic dock shipments to include crating, boxing, labeling and examining for specifications
• Checks pack list and verifies accuracy
• Prepares and set up boxes for shipping
• Boxes and crates shipments for outside services
• Prepares OV shipments
• Consolidates shipping
• Pull Parts by FIFO
• Ships domestic shipments based on customer requirements
• Uses Fed-Ex/UPS/DHL process for domestic shipments
• Banding and shrink wrapping
• Operates a fork lift with proper training
• Unloads trucks
• Receives materials using set process by utilizing proper tracking and moving materials accordingly
• Restocks materials
• Replenishes point of use materialsUses measuring devices including scales
• Review, understand and follow work instructions and procedures
• Ensures all company paperwork is filled-out accurately
• Meet team goals
• Cross train
• Work with other areas in the shop to support the movement and storage of materials
• Work to established Lean Manufacturing guidelines
• Work under general direction with minimal coaching in a team environment
• Will also perform other duties as assigned
• Transport material to and from OV suppliers in company van

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• 6 months of related experience and/or training
• Valid driver license is required to operate a forklift and company van

This role may encounter high risk or hazardous operations and/or include working shifts beyond a standard workweek. As such, a requirement of the role is to be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.

Additional Information

• Wages $20.10 per hour
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day.
• Must be able to work with upper body extremities.
• Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on occasion. Items more than 30 pounds will be lifted with assistance.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to moving high speed machinery and/or mechanical parts.
• Employee will be required to use approved chemicals and may be exposed to dust, fumes, or smoke from normal machining operations. (Not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)).
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
