Job summary

AKG is hiring a Material Handler for 1st shift in Mitchell, SD. You will unload trucks, sort materials, and prepare weekly Midwest shipments, using SAP to track inventory and maintain accurate records.

English communication and forklift certification are required, with a strong emphasis on safety and reliability. You’ll support inventory accuracy, learn ERP processes, and collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation (certification required).
• Ability to read, write, and understand work orders and blueprints.
• Basic math and measuring skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive materials, review packing slips, and maintain accurate records.
• Unload incoming trucks, sort parts, and place materials on the welding line.
• Prepare and load weekly Midwest shipments; confirm customer shipping and delivery reports.
• Use SAP to locate, retrieve, and track inventory.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and notify Purchasing when materials need replenishment.
• Assist other Material Handlers as needed.
• Report issues to the Supervisor immediately.
• Follow all environmental, safety, and company policies.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
