Job summary

Northern Manufacturing Co. is seeking a motivated individual for a first-shift role (Mon-Fri, 6:00am–3:30pm) to support material handling and fabrication processes. You will operate forklifts and equipment, coordinate with yard staff, and assist with inventory while upholding safety standards.

The ideal candidate has high school diploma, forklift experience, and a strong attention to detail. Team oriented, able to work independently, and comply with pre-employment checks and safety policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior forklift experience moving large parts required.
  • Previous manufacturing/fabrication facility experience preferred.
  • Basic math and measurement comprehension, and tape measure experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or within a collaborative environment.
  • Strong team member, supporting coworkers within all departments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various heavy equipment, such as tow motor, COMBiLift, crane, etc., to move material and large components in a safe manner.
  • Communicate with laser and equipment operators to ensure correct material is getting to the machines in an efficient manner to support production.
  • Coordinate with outdoor material handlers to assist in the organization of assigned outside yard areas and to facilitate easy access to materials from indoor staging locations.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisor to prioritize work each day, remaining up-to-date on changes to project schedules.
  • Demonstrate a level of urgency in work, understanding that project timelines are impacted when materials are delayed.
  • Assist with material inventory, tagging material, and pulling the correct material.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and storage yards.
  • Support other areas of the shop as requested, with duties such as general labor, breakout, assembly, etc.
  • Abide by established safety policies and procedures.

Northern Manufacturing, a worldwide leader in stainless steel fabrication, is seeking a motivated and hard-working individual to join our team. First shift hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 3:30pm.

Responsibilities

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
