Job summary

Impact is seeking a Material Handler in Minneapolis, MN, to maintain workflow between Warehouse, Production, and Mail Entry. Hours are 6 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday, with hourly wages between $18 and $22.

You will operate forklifts, move pallets, inspect goods, follow SOPs, and keep areas clean. A high school diploma or GED is required, with forklift experience preferred. This role reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and offers benefits and a path to overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; forklift certification preferred.
• Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
• Able to read and follow SOPs and policies.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to meet deadlines and work safely.

Responsibilities

• Pull/Move products to directed warehouse staging areas, secure locations, and departments.
• Review products for quality and accuracy before distributing by following standard operating procedures
• Managing the material flow throughout the process from Warehouse to Production to Mail Entry
• Move completed pallets to Mail Entry
• Help load and unload trucks for Mail Entry and Warehouse as needed.
• Use forklift and pallet jacks to move skids to their locations/departments
• Scan pallets into correct Locations/Destinations
• Work as a team member to complete jobs accurately and on time.
• Keep warehouse areas clean and organized at all times.
• Any other duties assigned by supervisor

Performance Measurement:

Performance feedback will take place both verbally and written on a day-to-day as needed basis, recognition in monthly employee recognition meetings, formal training on changes in SOP as needed with a formal review by the supervisor at least annually

Education And/or Experience And Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience or training.


• Maintain current license for forklift & rider power jacks.


• Able to work independently and maintain production standards.


• Able to read, understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures established by Management


• Able to read, understand and follow Impact Policies regarding attendance/behavior/procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.


• Able to meet deadlines established and exercise good judgment.


• Basic technology skills are required such as using a smart phone, and e-mailing. Additional computer skills are desirable.

Language And Math Skills

Ability to read, write and speak English at a sufficient level to understand/follow/complete all tasks assigned. Must be able to perform mathematical calculations sufficient to receive, pull, and calculate inventory balances. This shall include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Physical Demands

Often standing or walking, may climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Often lift up to 40 lbs & sometimes up to 70 lbs. Use hands to finger, handle or feel. Reach with hands and arms. Vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, & ability to focus.

Work Environment

Work near moving mechanical parts, fumes & air borne particles, risk of electrical shock, and exposure to toxic chemicals. The noise level is moderate to loud.
