Purpose of Position: Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our manufacturing facility, including receiving, storing, distributing, and tracking inventory between The Prestwick Companies.Position Overview: The Material Handler 1 will work alongside Inventory, Production, and various other departments to pick, pull, stock, and move materials to proper locations to ensure production is flowing smoothly. In this position, the Material Handler 1 will use various equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials. Additionally, they ensure accurate inventory records, follow safety procedures, and may also assist in loading and unloading trucks.Below are just some of the responsibilities and expectations that come along with this position.Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for receiving, counting, and verifying all inbound purchased inventoryUnload vehicles, accept deliveries, and unpack containersInspect the condition and quantity of itemsCompare items to purchase order and packing listNote discrepancies and update the purchaserPlace received inventory into the appropriate bin promptlyUtilize forklifts, pickers, and pallet jacks to move inventory to its designated storage/bin locationManually unloads/loads pallets and racking when requiredAssist Inventory team with stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory auditsWhen discrepancies are found, notify the appropriate Inventory team memberUses all available technology to leave a digital footprint on transactionsWorks daily inside our ERP system in a multitude of waysComfortably uses RF-Smart on barcode scanners to log receipts and stock countsIs the go-to person for all material-related needs, (CNC, Fabrication, Assembly & Receiving departments)Accurately labels and barcodes items and binsAdheres to all safety procedures and regulations, and reports any hazards or concerns to appropriate partiesCommunicates effectively and respectfully with Inventory and Production department team members regarding problems, concerns, status, and ideas for improvements** This position is responsible but not limited to all the tasks and duties listed above **What Success Looks Like: Keeps cells and machines in CNC, Fab, and Assembly areas running by assuring they never run out of material. Maintains inventory of plastic and wood profiles. Receives all deliveries, including material, equipment, and supplies; and puts them into assigned locations.
