Job summary

The Prestwick Group in Sussex, WI is seeking a Material Handler to safely move and manage materials in our manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include receiving, counting, storing, and tracking inventory using forklifts, pallet jacks, and RF-Smart barcode scanners within our ERP system.

Ideal candidates will have forklift and MEWP certification, strong attention to detail, ability to read measurements, and experience with inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Use forklifts, pickers, and pallet jacks to move inventory to storage locations.
• Assist Inventory team with stock counts, cycle counts, and audits.

# Material Handler 1Hot JobThe Prestwick Group - Sussex, WI 53089## OverviewSalary Range$20.00 - $24.00 HourlyJob ShiftFirst Shift## DescriptionPurpose of Position: Responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our manufacturing facility, including receiving, storing, distributing, and tracking inventory between The Prestwick Companies.Position Overview: The Material Handler 1 will work alongside Inventory, Production, and various other departments to pick, pull, stock, and move materials to proper locations to ensure production is flowing smoothly. In this position, the Material Handler 1 will use various equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials. Additionally, they ensure accurate inventory records, follow safety procedures, and may also assist in loading and unloading trucks. Below are just some of the responsibilities and expectations that come along with this position.Duties and Responsibilities:* Responsible for receiving, counting, and verifying all inbound purchased inventory + Unload vehicles, accept deliveries, and unpack containers + Inspect the condition and quantity of items + Compare items to purchase order and packing list + Note discrepancies and update the purchaser* Place received inventory into the appropriate bin promptly + Utilize forklifts, pickers, and pallet jacks to move inventory to its designated storage/bin location + Manually unloads/loads pallets and racking when required* Assist Inventory team with stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits + When discrepancies are found, notify the appropriate Inventory team member* Uses all available technology to leave a digital footprint on transactions + Works daily inside our ERP system in a multitude of ways + Comfortably uses RF-Smart on barcode scanners to log receipts and stock counts* Is the go-to person for all material-related needs, (CNC, Fabrication, Assembly & Receiving departments)* Accurately labels and barcodes items and bins* Adheres to all safety procedures and regulations, and reports any hazards or concerns to appropriate parties* Communicates effectively and respectfully with Inventory and Production department team members regarding problems, concerns, status, and ideas for improvements\*\* This position is responsible but not limited to all the tasks and duties listed above \*\*What Success Looks Like: Keeps cells and machines in CNC, Fab, and Assembly areas running by assuring they never run out of material. Maintains inventory of plastic and wood profiles. Receives all deliveries, including material, equipment, and supplies; and puts them into assigned locations.
